2025 Critical Areas Ordinance
The Washington State Growth Management Act (GMA) mandates that all cities and counties review and update the policies and regulations used to protect public health and safety by limiting development in hazard areas, including steep slopes and flood zones, and to protect environmentally critical areas, including aquifers, wetlands and streams.
The Town of Beaux Arts Village has regulations in place already to protect wetlands and and special flood hazard areas. And on December 30, 2025, the Council enacted new expanded regulations that will protect fish and wildlife habitat, geologically hazardous Areas, and critical aquifer recharge areas.
To view the new regulations, please see Ordinance No. 487 below. These regulations will be codified into the Beaux Arts Village Municipal Code shortly.
